Evidence status

Educational draft: initial reading does not replace academic and community review.

The proposed concept

Living Laboratory Blue Education Bintan can investigate kelong through education, heritage documentation, water-quality observation and evaluation of aquaculture opportunities. This is a proposed programme, not an operating aquaculture facility with proven outcomes.

Integrated multi-trophic aquaculture

FAO reviews integration of organisms from different trophic positions to better utilise nutrients. Any application to kelong requires species, ecological, engineering, financial and regulatory studies.

Learning pathway

Start with authorised interviews and safe shore-based observations, formulate research questions, analyse secondary data and test classroom-scale models. Offshore work requires safety procedures, permissions and competent personnel.

Learning question

What is actually supported by local sources, and what still requires direct investigation?
