Before documentation
Explain audience, purpose, translation, disclosure risks, media rights and privacy choices in a language participants understand. Consent to an interview does not automatically permit global publication.
During curation
Separate participant accounts, researcher interpretation, instrument readings and graphic reconstructions. Check Malay terminology with speakers and label unresolved questions.
After publication
Provide routes for corrections, objections and agreed removals, and audit links and licences. Community credit is not a substitute for permission.
